Home/Modularity

Modularity refers to the construction of a system by joining together standardized units to form larger compositions, as for example, the hexagonal cells in a honeycomb. Modularity may be understood as the degree to which a system is composed of discrete components such that a change to one component has minimal impact on other components. In design, modularity refers to an engineering technique that builds larger systems by combining smaller subsystems.
