Home/Industrial Ecology

Industrial ecology takes a holistic approach to the analysis of coupled industrial-ecological systems in studying their macro and micro material and energy flows. In its most generalized sense, industrial ecology is understood as a means to achieving sustainability. In practice, industrial ecology consists of a set of tools for achieving energy efficiency and high environmental standards through life cycle assessment and material flow accounting among other tools that are commonly used in the field.
