Complexity management is an approach to management based upon complexity theory. This new approach sees organizations as open, self-organizing systems where overall functionality and desirable outcomes are an emergent phenomenon of local interactions between members. As such complexity management is focused on collaborative, networked organizations that operate within complex volatile environments often under conditions of uncertainty requiring them to develop resiliency through their adaptive capacity.
