Loose coupling describes an interaction or interrelationship between two or more elements where the degree of autonomy of the elements remains maximal so that they are only partially associated with a high capacity for this association to change over time. Systems that are composed of loosely coupled elements typically have not formal centralized structure but are instead dynamic networks within which component parts can couple and decouple on-demand. In design and engineering, loose coupling is an approach to interconnecting the components in a system or network so that those elements, depend on each other to the least extent practicable.
