Social structures are enduring patterns of behavior and interaction within a social system, they define some form of order to the overall system. Social structures are typically complex and recurring patterns of social arrangements in society that are both emergent from and determinant of the actions and relations between agents. Social structures provide stability to society, they are the frameworks through which some social function is performed and are typically the primary vehicle through which soical power and control are exorsised.
