A user interface is a set of technologies used for communicating to people the procedures required for operating a given system and the actual physical means for them to interact with the system. User interfaces reflect the underlying logical and algorithms through which the technology functions but are expected to do so in a fashion the is intelligible to the end-user. The point of an interface is to translate the language and functionality of the system into the language of the end user and to provide the physical means for them to interact with the system.
