Equilibrium

Home/Equilibrium

Equilibrium means a balance, it occurs when all forces or influences on a system are balanced. For example in physics equilibrium is reached when the sum of forces on an object result in no change in motion. The concept of equilibrium is important within many areas of science as it offers some frame of reference for interpreting systems in terms of their “normal” equilibrium state and how they might depart from this.
